CHIEFMAG.COM
2006-2009
FOUNDER, EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

I founded ChiefMag.com on September 11th, 2006. Shortly thereafter, I partnered with Ed Zipco and incorporated our business Chief Creative. Since then, this Brooklyn-based arts and culture online magazine has grown to include a record label (Ninjasonik) and a music venue (BODEGA). Over the years, Chief has interviewed hundreds of artists, hosted dozens of events, and continues to evolve with the Brooklyn arts community.

As founder, Editor-in-Chief and Creative Director of ChiefMag.com, I managed a team of dedicated writers and photographers to produce unique, polished content both for the semi-monthly issues as well as the daily blog.

Within the 17 issues of ChiefMag.com, you can find interviews with artists and musicians including: Dan Deacon, Cory Archangel, Eugene Mirman, Todd P, Man Man, Monotonix, DJ Dirty Finger, Santiago Mostyn, MGMT, Wham City, Joe Ahearn, Maggie Lee, Battles, The Death Set, Jaimie Warren, Taylor McKimens, PaperRad, Brad Neely, Space 1026, Matt Furie, Tony Millionaire, Juiceboxxx, Matt and Kim, Sam Lipsyte, Ben Frost, Dennis McNett, Todd Fisher, George Saunders and hundreds more.

Chief events began at the work/live loft I shared with Chief partner Ed Zipco. Very soon our rowdy, all-night dance parties outgrew the loft.
Over the years, Chief hosted dozens of events at numerous venues and locations throughout Brooklyn including, Mud Wrestling at Galapagos; The Last Summer Ever, a rooftop dance party; The Silent Rock Show, Not So Slient Auction at 3rd Ward.

In 2008 Chief leased an old bodega a converted it into an underground music venue. Learn more about BODEGA.
